This video was created for students enrolled in my college PC Hardware class. In this video you will learn how the voltage of the power coming from a wall socket can vary wildly, from low or no voltage during an outage or brownout, to huge spikes. You will then how to ensure the computer has a supply of clean power using devices ranging from surge suppressors to UPS’s and generators, the costs associated with these devices, and some guidelines for appropriate usage in the home and in the workplace.
