CSIA 430 Linux Administration – Accessing the Web Server Using The Real IP Address

This video was created for students in my college Linux Administration class (at Tonysako.com). In this video you will learn how access the web server on their virtual Linux server using the real IP address for the Windows host computer. Specifically students will learn how to look up the IP address for the Windows host using the ipconfig command, and then create a port forwarding rule in Oracle Virtual Box using this IP address to route web packets into the Linux VM. This process will be necessary in our classroom labs when we connect to a web server on a different physical computer in the lab.
